What to Wear - Daddy & Me edition {Gilbert, AZ Family Photographer}

This week's edition of What to Wear is dedicated to that special man in your life! Yep...we are talking about the dad's this week. I think that a great gift to give to Dad this year would be a special photo shoot of just him with the kiddos...usually it's the whole family or maybe even a special mommy & me session, but dad's deserve some special photos of themselves with their kiddos too! (Maybe even book of my spring mini-session's coming up next week...hint, hint!)

I love black & white photos. I think that it can add to the emotion of an image. It can convey something that isn't said by a regular color image. AND I think that this photo in particular looks especially amazing in black & white.

A Special Extended Family Session {Phoenix, Arizona Family Photographer}

Last month I had the privilege of meeting up with a family...a LARGE extended family of 27. Yep that's right 27 people...15 children and 12 adults. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the family (each and every one of them) turned out to be absolutely wonderful. The location was perfect...a small grassy area near the base of South Mountain and there was a bridge that made for the perfect backdrop to showcase this large family!

I also made sure to steal away a little time with the leaders of this great bunch of people! Aren't they just the cutest?? So adorable and still in love after so many years together!

What to Wear - Senior Photos Edition {Gilbert, AZ Senior Photographer}

Getting your senior photos done is one of the most fun parts of your senior year. It's a tradition for high school seniors to have a professional portrait session done...and for most teens it's your first time to have a session dedicated entirely to you!

One of the most asked questions that I get about your session is what should you wear? Typically speaking you will wear several different outfits during your session...this helps to make each set of photos unique and helps to add variety to the shoot. It's also a way for you to showcase your personality! Bring lots of choices...with shoes and accessories for each outfit! Have fun with it and mix things up. Bring bright colors, casual clothes and a formal outfit! These are photos that will last a lifetime...make sure to put some thought into what you bring.

Now that Springtime is finally here...it's time to start finally start shedding all of the winter wear and brightening up your wardrobe! So start breaking out the brighter clothes, sandals, and shorts...it'll help to make your family photos not only beautiful but you will be comfortable also!!

Also, remember when you are picking out your outfits to start with one person's outfit and coordinate everyone else's around it. In the example above I found the adorable girl's striped shirt and worked off it it...matching different coordinating colors from the pattern! Doesn't it all look great together?
